Suri Headquarters

The above search tool was created by Northwest Alpacas and Old Trails Alpacas using records obtained from the ARI. The purpose of the tool is to allow Suri breeders to quickly access information that would help establish whether a given suri is homozygous or heterozygous.

The results are based on the parent progeny records. A parent with huacaya cria, for the purposes of this search tool, is considered heterozygous. A heterozygous suri by our definition carries a huacaya gene. For a complete discussion of this subject please read:

* What You See Isn't Always What you Get!

* Homozygous Suris: What are the Odds?

This tool is designed for use by Suri breeders who want to increase the odds of their Suri cria being Homozygous or "Pure" for the Suri gene. To use the search tool, fill in the search fields above and click "Get Results". If you have questions or additional request you can email bill@oldtrailsalpacas.com.
